Asher & Ainsley at 7 1/2 months

Some people say that Asher looks just like Jon, some say he looks just like me, some say he looks just like Ainsley. It is really hard for me to tell. These pictures are as close as I could get to the same age.

Asher is sitting up pretty well now. He still topples over, but he has made significant progress in the last few days. He rolls and reaches all over. He is eating rice, barley, and oatmeal baby cereals at a pretty thick consistancy, shredded apple, shredded cheese, mashed canned peas, carrots, peaches, and green beans, and mashed bananas. He does pretty well picking up things like the apple or the cheese and getting it in his mouth. Today he practiced this skill with a shred of paper on the carpet. :-)

Ainsley had music class today. She does really well participating in class. The teacher is really good. Afterwards I called Jon from the car. Ainsley asked to talk to him, and proceeded to tell him all about the fire truck that passed us and where it was going. He was able to easily understand all of what she described to him.

Some of you know that we visited Sarah in NY city over Christmas (we were staying in CT and took a day trip in). Ainsley talks about that trip--about Sarah's apartment and riding the train and the bus. One thing that comes up all the time, though, is the ferris wheel. We went to a really neat Toys R Us store that had a ferris wheel inside. The wait was almost 2 hours, so we couldn't ride it. Ainsley every few days will stop, put her finger on her lip in a thinking pose, and say, "I'm still thinking about the ferris wheel." We have explained that some day we will ride on a ferris wheel. She doesn't seem to be upset by it--just stuck on talking about it, I guess. Tonight in prayer she said, "Thank you for the ferris wheel that we didn't ride on." It was very cute.

Ok--I need to head to bed--just wanted to get some pics on here for everyone!
