Family Camp

Each year, we get together with Jon's parents, his sister and their family, and his aunt (otherwise known as Granddad & Grandmama, Clay, Rachel, Anna, & Ben, and Auntie Em) for a weekend of family time at Village Creek State Park. We look forward to this time every year. The cousins get to play, the adults get to catch up away from the bustle of everyday life, and we all enjoy nature.
We are usually visited by some nocturnal, garbage-raiding guests, and this year was no exception. The kids got to look out our cabin windows to watch the raccoon. It is really incredible how they get the lids off those heavy cans! We also took our annual night drive to see as many animals as possible. We saw lots of deer, one armadillo, and a raccoon. The real treat this year was when we were driving along, an owl swooped right in front of the van! We got to see it clearly in the headlights.
We brought bikes for the kids this year, and Anna learned to ride with no training wheels! Yay, Anna!
Asher liked riding the scooter with Jon.

We also had an egg hunt, played some games, and had devotional time.
This picture looks like Jon is just holding Asher's hand. In actuality, Jon is literally keeping a leaning Asher from jumping right in! We couldn't let go for a second!

Thanks for a great time, family!
