Day Trip to NYC

We recently took a trip to my parents' house. It had been almost a year since we had been up there! We got in on a Wednesday night, put the kids to bed, and the next morning we were up bright and early to get on a train to NYC (mom and dad kept the kids). Jon had never been to Sarah's apartment, so we headed there first.

Here's the proof we were there (and if our poses look a little awkward, it is because the camera is on a bookshelf on a timer and we are trying to make sure we all fit in the pic.)

Next we had some really yummy Japanese food. I had Katsudon, Jon had Tempura Udon, and Sarah had sushi. Yum!! For us, there is no better treat than that!
On our way to the train, the 3 of us took a detour to see the Apple Store.
And what were the kids doing all this time? Spending quality time with Grandma and Grandpa!
They spent pretty much all morning in the garden picking vegetables and berries.
The kids with Grandpa and some of the fruits of their labor
The blackberries and raspberries were plentiful. The kids stuck with it, and each picked quite a few.

Some of Asher's even made it to his bowl instead of his mouth. He picked all of what is in his bowl in this picture.

You had me at sushi! Glad you guys had such a fun trip to see your family, and I love the berry-stained mouths in the kids' pictures! Huckleberry picking is big up here, and it's generally a 1:1 ratio of berries going into the mouth to berries going into the bucket.
