We took the kids to Johnston’s Pumpkin Farm in Greenbrier. Ainsley had been really looking forward to going so we made sure to squeeze in the trip even though we were tight on time. The past several years we have gone with mother’s day out, and the farm did a really neat educational tour. Going on our own, we didn’t get the tour, but we still did a hayride and got to look at the animals. Both kids picked a pie pumpkin. I packed us a picnic lunch, and we made a morning of it.
Asher on the hayride. On the initial bumps, he reached out to hold my hand to steady himself. Really cute.
Ainsley is my grown-up girl. (Thanks to Alexa for the great Halloween shirts!)
Several things to notice in this picture. First, Asher’s overalls were given to Ainsley by Auntie Em. I figured what better place to wear overalls and a flannel shirt (from Ben) than to a farm! The second thing to notice is that we only have one pair of boots. It fits both kids. I gave it to Asher because I figured he would be more likely to have trouble staying out of the mud (which was plentiful). The third thing to notice is the mud on Ainsley’s pant legs and shoes. Poor girl took off running to a pumpkin and didn’t see the huge mud puddle. Mom miscalculated on the boots! :-)
