During October, we took a trip to see Nabil & Kelly. Asher was 6 months old the last time we all had seen each other (Ainsley & I did get to see Kelly for a few days in April), so it was definitely time for a trip.
When Jon got off work on Friday, we got on the road. We drove to Cookeville, TN, getting there around midnight. After calling around (using my AAA book), we got a good deal on a hotel that we thought was pretty nice. The next day we drove the rest of the way in. They had some great food waiting for us—it would have been great even if we hadn’t been eating fast food all day!
We were able to spend some really great time with them. We all went swimming at their gym on Sunday night. On Monday we went to a playground, Tuesday we went to the beach, Wednesday to Cypress Gardens, Thursday to the Aquarium, and left Friday (more to come on each of these outings.) We also poked around some outlet malls and got some good deals. In spite of how busy it sounds like we were, we were home every afternoon for the kids’ naps and got some good relaxing time in during the evenings.
Ainsley making Algerian cookies with Nabil. They are called Ghribiya, and are made with flour, butter, and sugar. They have cinnamon on top.
Nabil’s famous couscous. Yum!
The morning we left
Thanks for having us! We had a great time.

I've resorted to keeping up with you through your blog now. Even though the last post is a month old, I still learned about what you guys have been up to!
