Since our Christmas plans included major travelling beginning on the 24th of December, we had our family Christmas the Saturday before the actual holiday. This worked out very well. It was very relaxed. We had pancakes for breakfast, then we opened presents. Ainsley was old enough to be really excited with the anticipation this year, and Asher was old enough to really enjoy the process.
Here is Ainsley with the globe the kids got. She likes maps a lot. She has learned all the continents at her school, and she knows a lot of the states. She can also show you many countries, including Japan and Turkey.

Ainsley’s “big” gift this year was a set of big kid legos.
Ainsley opening the hat Aunt Kelly made for her. Both kids got a hat to match the scarves Kelly had made each of them for their birthdays. Thanks Aunt Kelly!
Asher “wearing” his hat. Technically, we did just tell him to put it on . . .
There, that’s better!
Asher’s big gift this year was this basketball hoop. He has really enjoyed it. He chases the ball all over, and shoots it at the hoop. The height adjusts up to 6 feet, but right now it is at 3 feet.

For lunch, I made a special lunch—gyoza, soba noodles, and General Tzo’s chicken.
We had a very enjoyable day spending time as a family.
