We had an early Thanksgiving (over Veteran's Day weekend) with Grandpa & Grandma. Asher put on a repeat performance of the
weekend with Granddad and Grandmama (he was running a fever and generally not feeling well until Monday), but still did pretty well. There were some delays and issues with the airline, but everything worked out well with their travel. We had a yummy Thanksgiving meal on Saturday. I made squash soup (a combination of
this recipe and
this recipe), mashed potatoes & gravy,
green beans, glazed ham, bread, apple pie, and pumpkin pie. (
Ok, I am a little proud to have made the whole thing myself!) I tried to keep it simple because I knew we didn't have a lot of time, plus I had a sick kiddo keeping my arms occupied much of the time.

Asher and Grandma made this tower. Asher really did help put the blocks on--even up this high!

Grandpa reading to Ainsley. Her nightly reading includes having a cup of ice chips to chew on. And, no, I don't remember how that started!
