In the last few days, I have done some online shopping, and tonight I went out shopping. I was shoe shopping (at Shoe Carnival) tonight because my sneakers were falling apart. I also went to Goody's because I had a $10 off a $10 purchase coupon (thanks mom!) The 2 stores are right next to each other. I found some sneakers that I like, and I also got Ainsley a pair of sandals so she can slip them on to head outside without the ordeal of socks and lace up sneakers. Jon made me a cutout of her foot so I could try to fit it without her there.
I have always disliked shopping, especially clothes shopping. I have, however, discovered that I like online shopping. I like the excitement of something showing up on your doorstep, the fact that the kids can be asleep and I can be shopping, and the ease of comparing prices and products. Don't get me wrong, I don't overdo it, but when there is something that I need online, I enjoy ordering it.
The biggest item I purchased in the last few days was a new car seat for Ainsley. The straps on her old one (that she has had since birth) are fully extended and too snug. We opted for a Britax Regent so that we could keep her in the 5 point harness longer. Unfortunately, Consumer Reports does not do ratings for this classification of seat, so we had to go without their guidance this time. Britax is a good name, though, so I think we will have a good seat.
I also purchased swim suits for the kids. We have season tickets for Wild River Country (the water park one street over.) I got them UV protection suits. We did this for Ainsley before, and it worked well protecting her from the sun. I also find it much easier because there are fewer unprotected areas to apply (and reapply) sunblock. I definitely don't want them getting sunburn, and it doesn't take long in the hot AR sun! Here are the suits I purchased: for Asher (in blue, not pink), and for Ainsley.
I should be getting packages very soon! :-)
