A lot has happened in the last few months! Many changes for our family. I guess I need to start somewhere . . .
We found a house! We have been living here for a few months now. I still have quite a few boxes to open, but it does feel like home. We have 4 bedrooms now, so the kids have their own, plus we have an office/guest room. The four bedrooms are upstairs, plus a bathroom and a master bathroom. Downstairs, there are 2 living areas. The one at the front of the house has a nice big window (perfect for our Christmas tree). The one at the back of the house has a fireplace. Also downstairs, there is a dining room, a kitchen with an eating area, and a half bath.
The house is in reasonably good condition (it is an older home), and Jon has been working diligently on various updating projects that have really turned out well. He replaced all the closet hardware with shelves and bars that are working great. He also replaced the kitchen and bathroom outlets with GFCI plugs, put in a new thermostat, and put in a new garbage disposal. I am sure I am forgetting things, but he has been doing a lot to make our house a home. Right now, we are working on finding furniture for the kitchen eating area and for the den (right now the kids are using the den to ride scooters around in because we only have one chair in it!)
We are very happy with this home. The layout is very much what we had in mind (except the laundry being in the garage, but I can live with that!) The yard is good-sized and flat and works well for the kids and for Misty. The best part is that we are within walking distance of several close friends!
We are very thankful that the timing worked so well. Our apartment lease ended at the right time. We enjoyed living at the apartment—the kids got to swim all summer, Jon didn’t have to mow the lawn in the heat, and we were close to Jon’s work. I do feel much more settled now that we are here, though. Strangely enough, Misty never did relax at the apartment—she likes it here much better. The kids like having their own space (I like that they go to sleep faster!) They also like having their stuff out of storage.
We are very thankful for this home!

Congratulations on your new home! We also moved into a home of our own this year, and it feels great after so long as renters. I hope you enjoy unpacking those final boxes and decorating your new rooms! (I'd love to see pictures!)
Yay! I was wondering how things were going! I know you all are so excited to have more room and to be getting settled. I can't wait to see pictures of your new digs!
