I learned something tonight . . .

I noticed tonight that even though I have only been blogging for a few months, I was using 1% of my limit on picture storage. Since I would like to keep doing this, and not have to delete any photos, I did some investigating. I learned that if you upload a photo, even if you delete it or delete the post, it is still in your web album taking up space. I also learned, that even though I was clicking "medium" size when I uploaded my photos, it didn't actually change their size. It just showed them smaller on my blog, while storing them full size in my album online. So tonight, I resized my pictures to small on my harddrive (Jon told me about a Microsoft PowerToy called Image Resizer that will let you right click and resize easily) and then uploaded them at medium size. They look the same online to me, and instead of taking up 240KB each, they take up 43KB! My favorite part of blogging is sharing pictures, so I think it was worth the time it took for me to figure out.

Thanks for the info. I was just assuming we had unlimited storage. Silly me:-)
