First post in awhile . . .

The kids and I made it back safe and sound on Saturday night. It was a good trip (hard, but good) and I am glad that we went. I know it meant a lot to my grandparents for us to have made the trip. As for the car trip, well, I really don't want to do that again anytime soon! The dvd player worked out great. Poor Asher, though, is still facing backwards, and so he had very little interaction on our driving days. I think the kids are settling back into their routines now. My house is completely trashed still (one of my constant struggles, and right now I am losing!). I am trying to at least keep the kitchen picked up so that maybe I can slowly get a handle on the rest of it! Oh, well! The kids are doing well, and that is the important part.
Moth update: it isn't over yet--I am still finding moths. Right now we have all of our board games and Misty's dog food in the deep freezer to try and kill any more eggs.
I do have pictures of our trip that I will post when I have more time. I will post some nice ones of Ainsley, though.

I was going to caption this, "This is what happens when you don't obey mommy." But after thinking about this, I realized that didn't sound too good! So I better explain. The last two nights of our trip we stayed in a rented room, so Asher, Ainsley, and I were all in the same room. I got Asher down to sleep, but could not get Ainsley to settle down. She (among other things) kept flopping on the bed. I did what I could to make her quit, but I guess she had to learn this one on her own. As soon as I realized that she was bleeding I ran her up to my parent's room. It really scared us at first because there was blood coming out of her eye. In that instant that I saw the blood, I was thinking brain injury or eye injury, and realized we were 20 miles from the nearest hospital, which I will kindly say isn't state of the art. One more thing I take for granted living where we do! Once we cleaned her up, we could tell it was her eyelid that was cut, and that it wasn't deep. I am really glad my parents were there to help me! Thanks mom and dad!

Ok, I must go to bed. I had to make this post, though, before everyone started wondering if we survived the trip! :-)

I am glad it wasn't very deep! It is always scary when there is blood on the head!! Glad you made it home safe and the trip went pretty well.

I can only imagine how funny it must be to go to the deep freezer in search of dinner, open the door, and find monopoly and chutes and ladders in there:-)

Is Ainsley better now?
