Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went with Asher's mother's day out to a pumpkin patch. The kids got to pick a small pumpkin each. Asher picked a pie pumpkin and Ainsley picked 3 miniature pumpkins. Then the kids listened to a story, learned about cotton, and then got to see some farm animals. They got to touch a baby duck and baby chick. They saw a huge pig eat a pumpkin, pet a goat, and hear a turkey gobble. Then we tasted molasses after learning how it is made. Ainsley is one of the few kids who actually likes molasses. Then we all rode a hayride and had a picnic lunch. We all had a good time. Here are some pics.

Ainsley and one of her pumpkins.

I think this is the one!

Look closely--Asher thought the pumpkins were balls--and I didn't quite catch this one!

Petting the baby duck.
This last picture is from last year at the same farm.

Asher loves to throw things! He looks pretty proud of himself at the end.

Looks like you guys had a blast and had great weather for your outing!! This past weekend I took Kerensa to a pumpkin farm, but it was pretty cold out. I had to carry her pretty much the whole time. She did like the ponies and the chickens, although she didn't get close enough to pet either.
