Side note about the pediatrician visit: we waited a long time in the waiting room. I used all my best mommy tricks to keep Asher happy. Thankfully, Daddy was willing to take Ainsley so I only had to keep track of one. It is very difficult to keep Ainsley from touching (and licking) everything in the office. I am admittedly something of a germ-o-phobe when it comes to what goes in my kids mouths, but am I alone in viewing a pediatrician's office waiting room as one big germ factory? While I was there, there were kids rolling all over the floor, touching all the seats and toys, and the fish tank, and then eating snacks without washing their hands. I am all for kids exploring their environment, but my goal is to make it away from a well-child visit with a well child!

OK, back to Asher :-)
Asher has 3 teeth (I still have yet to capture them on camera). He has been saying uh-oh (sometimes pronounced uh-uh, but always in response to something hitting the floor) for some time now. Yesterday morning I could definitely identify that he repeated "good girl" (we were talking to the dog, Misty) several times, and I am pretty sure that he repeated "no, no". He can mimic sounds like squeals, barking, and wailing (which makes for an interesting chorus if Ainsley is upset!) If he gets mad, he throws himself backward onto the floor, the crib side, and yesterday, granddad's foot. Sometimes in the middle of the night in his crib he will be standing up and crying. He waits until I get there and reach for him, then he throws himself backwards, and sometimes he will stand up for the express purpose of being able to do it again! Hitting the floor doesn't seem to hurt him much because of the helmet. He may be a little strong-willed, or maybe just frustrated because he can't communicate with words yet. No telling. He can climb very well, and will make every effort to reach things that are out of his reach. He points to what he wants, and loves to turn the lights on and off. He seems to be a thinker--he seems to study how things work. Here are Ainsley and Asher at approximately 1 year old:
