An unexpected morning

Early in the morning on Aug 2, Jon got a phone call saying that a transformer had blown near his office building, and it would be at least several hours until his office had power. We loaded the kids up and went to Lake Willastein together. The kids swung on the swings and played on the playground. Afterward, we stopped at Sonic and got cherry and strawberry limeades (Asher didn't get one, poor kid!) Then Jon went on to work. It was neat to get out together as a family on a day we don't normally have together.
